Open Access Policy

All manuscripts published in Advances in Agriculture and Biology (AAB) are made immediately available worldwide under an open access license on the principle that making research freely available after publication on its website to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge (fulfilling the DOAJ definition of open access). This means that everyone has free and unlimited access to the full-text of all articles published online immediately upon publication, without any cost/barrier of subscription/registration to the readers universally. Everyone is free to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose if proper accreditation/citation of the original publication is given. Payment for publication is typically made by the authors’ institutions or funding bodies, who pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) when the research is accepted.

Permission

Open access articles in AAB are published under a CC BY license (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License). Under Creative Commons, authors retain copyright in their articles. It allows for maximum dissemination and re-uses of open access materials and is preferred by many research funding bodies. Hence, no special permission is required to reuse all or part of article published by AAB, including figures and tables. For articles published under this License, any part of the article may be reused without permission provided that the original article is properly cited (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/). Reuse of an article does not imply endorsement by the authors or AAB. Open access of articles mean peer-reviewed literature is freely available without subscription or price barriers, literature is immediately released in open access format, and published material can be re-used without obtaining permission as long as a correct citation to the original publication is given. In case of reviews authors are advised to inquire with the original copyright holder (usually the original publisher or authors), whether or not this material can be re-used:

Advantages of Open Access for Authors

1. Exchange of Research Results

Open access publishing fosters the exchange of research results amongst scientists from different disciplines, thus facilitating interdisciplinary research. Open access publishing also provides access to research results to researchers worldwide, including those from developing countries, and to an interested general public.

2. High Availability and Visibility

Open access articles are guaranteed through the free and unlimited accessibility of the publication over the Internet. Everyone can freely access and download the full text of all articles published with AAB and there is no need to pay any subscription charges to read articles published by ISABS. Open access publications are also more likely to be included in search engines and indexing databases.

3. Higher Citation Impact

High citation impact of open access articles results from their high publicity and availability.
